You're Welcome to Come for Revenge
**BOOM!!!**
**BOOM!!!**
**BOOM!!!**
Mo Fan kept summoning Fire Bursts from both hands in rapid succession — streaks of flame cutting through the air, one after another, two-meter fireballs detonating around Dongfang Ming with devastating force.
Dongfang Ming wore Armor Enchanted Gear, and it was clearly no cheap piece of equipment — it had already absorbed wave after wave of Fire Burst explosions. But Mo Fan's rate of fire was relentless, and the sheer force of each detonation made it impossible for Dongfang Ming to concentrate long enough to complete a Star Chart.
It was genuinely humiliating. Dongfang Ming could trace a Star Chart twice as fast as any ordinary mage — sometimes fast enough to rival the Release speed of others' basic-tier spells. Yet today Mo Fan had completely neutralized him. There was almost no opportunity to unleash any intermediate-tier magic. Every time his Star Chart was nearly complete, another enhanced Fire Burst would come screaming in, leaving him ringing and disoriented, his Armor Enchanted Gear already showing signs of destabilizing.
Gritting his teeth, Dongfang Ming swallowed a measure of his pride and retreated far out of range.
With a pulse of Mental Intent, he summoned his Wing Enchanted Gear.
A pair of teal wings materialized, every feather rendered in crisp detail.
A single powerful beat sent him spiraling upward on a gust of wind, lifting his body into the night sky.
His original plan had been to meet Mo Fan head-on, but being pinned down by basic-tier spells had forced his hand. He activated the Wing Enchanted Gear to seize the initiative from above. He was smart enough to recognize that once his Armor Enchanted Gear gave out entirely, any chance of besting Mo Fan would vanish with it.
Fire Burst had a limited range after all. From altitude, he could rain Blazing Fist strikes down on Mo Fan like a meteor shower.
The Wing Enchanted Gear was obscenely expensive — but it truly made Dongfang Ming untouchable.
"I'll admit your underhanded tricks managed to suppress my offense," Dongfang Ming called down, beating his teal wings as he rose twenty meters into the air. "But you'll never be a match for me!"
"You think I'm going to let you fly?" Mo Fan smiled.
The red Star Trails vanished. At Mo Fan's feet, a violet-black Star Chart had been completed — when, it was impossible to say. Arcs of electricity crept strangely across his body — flickering into existence, vanishing, then reappearing without warning.
"Qianjun — Thunderbolt — Yaksha!"
Mo Fan leveled a finger at the space above Dongfang Ming's head. An invisible bolt shot straight up into the night sky.
A Lightning Cloud formed in an instant, blanketing the air directly above Dongfang Ming.
He stared at the Lightning Element Star Nebula taking shape overhead, his mind going blank.
*Lightning... Lightning Element??*
*He just used Shadow Element magic to dodge my attacks — which means he cultivates Shadow Element and Fire Element. So what the hell is this Lightning Element??*
"You're not the only one with a special gift," Mo Fan called up to him.
The words had barely left his mouth when the Thunderbolt descended from the heavens.
It was savage and relentless — thick, violet-black lightning split the night sky in a blaze of glory, trailing cascades of sparks in its wake. Midway through its descent, the destructive force fractured apart, forming the shape of a demon's claw.
The violet-black claw snatched at Dongfang Ming just as he was ascending. He had no time to react. The Thunderbolt struck him full in midair.
Lightning ignited across his body. Without the Armor Enchanted Gear to shield him, he would have been reduced to a charred corpse in the sky. As it was, he was slammed back down and crashed into the ground — the concussive force of the Qianjun's thunder rattling every bone in his body, leaving him crumpled in the dirt like a broken doll.
He tried to push himself up but couldn't find an ounce of strength. Violet-black arcs of electricity crackled and snapped across his body, continuing to shock him in relentless pulses. The Thunderbolt had punched clean through his Armor Enchanted Gear, and his unprotected body had no way to endure what came after.
"Fifteen minutes aren't up yet, are they?" Mo Fan grinned, gazing down at Dongfang Ming with unhurried contempt.
An intermediate-tier Mage with Wing Enchanted Gear and expensive Armor Enchanted Gear to boot — Dongfang Ming's background was something else entirely, and the arrogance bred into his bones practically radiated from him.
And yet today, a fellow intermediate-tier Mage had ground him into the dirt. The wound to his pride ran deep.
"I — I know who you are!" Dongfang Ming forced the words out through clenched teeth, fighting through the pain.
"With natural Dual Elements, who else could it be?" Mo Fan replied with an easy smile, utterly unconcerned about having his identity exposed.
The Tribunal could dig up his identity in minutes — it was only a matter of time. This whole situation had sprung from a divide in opinion within the Tribunal itself, and Zhu Meng would have a hard time making any charges stick. There was no point in hiding. People would find out eventually, whether he liked it or not.
"Don't you dare go anywhere!!" Dongfang Ming's eyes burned with barely contained fury.
Mo Fan didn't give him another glance. He turned and sprinted toward Tang Yue's position.
Teacher Tang Yue was holding off four opponents on her own — three intermediate-tier Mages and one Ascension Phase Razorfeather Sparrow. The Mages were manageable. The Razorfeather Sparrow was the real problem.
By the time Mo Fan arrived, Tang Yue had already been forced to bring out her Slash Enchanted Gear, dealing severe damage to the infuriatingly resilient creature — but she herself was in a desperate fight. The three Mages were taking turns bombarding her with intermediate-tier spells, leaving her with no defensive options. Shadow Fade was her only way to stay alive.
"Teacher Tang Yue — don't come my way, I don't have any defensive magic either. Draw two of them off and keep them busy. I'll take out their weakest one." Mo Fan kept his voice barely above a murmur as she passed near him.
He had no intention of walking in openly. He used Shadow Fade to drift into the battlefield without a sound.
"Understood." The moment Tang Yue stepped into the open, three massive Ice Locks materialized nearby — snapping into the exact positions she had Shadow Faded through, merciless, aimed to crush her with Bone Crush.
Tang Yue didn't waste a word. She bolted in the direction furthest from the Ice Locks, holding back Shadow Fade deliberately. That way, all eyes would stay fixed on her.
Both Tang Yue and Mo Fan were Shadow Element Mages. Working together, their coordination was seamless.
Tang Yue played the part of someone driven to the edge, with nowhere left to run — while Mo Fan moved without a sound through the tall weeds, slipping swiftly into position beside Liu Yilin.
"She's finished — my Ice Locks have her!" Liu Yilin said, barely containing his excitement.
"Don't injure her. Her status is sensitive," Liu Zhongming said.
"Don't worry, I'll hold the Ice Locks back... Brother, once we've captured her, my promotion to Tribunal Agent is practically guaranteed, right?" Liu Yilin said.
Liu Zhongming didn't answer. He was focused entirely on sustaining the Earth Wave, cutting off any avenue of escape.
Then a voice rose right beside Liu Yilin — quiet, and carrying an unmistakable edge:
"Liu Yilin. Looks like I went too easy on you last time — and here you are, going after my woman again!!"
The voice drifted up from behind like a ghost. Liu Yilin spun around in shock and found himself staring at the face he despised most in the world — the one responsible for ruining his reputation at school...
*Taken out in a single move. The ultimate disgrace!!*
There was no time for rage. He was already trembling from head to toe.
*How did this bastard get behind me??*
